Regional Radiological Dispersal Device Plan

Regional Radiological Dispersal Device (RDD) Plan

The Regional Radiological Dispersal Device Plan (RDD) focuses on how regional executives communicate in the aftermath of an RDD detonation. The plan calls for the formation of a Science and Technology Advisory Committee to provide regional executives with recommendations concerning radiological contamination, public health consequences and environmental effects.

The Plan provides local jurisdictions with a template that they can use to build a comprehensive RDD response plan tailored to their jurisdiction's resources and needs. These templates divide the RDD response mission into 10 field response operations. Sample Incident Action Plans are also included for the early, intermediate and late phases of the incident response for jurisdiction to use.
