Debris Management Plan

Debris Management Plan

Following a disaster, debris can create a number of problems, particularly on roads, potentially hindering critical response and recovery operations. In the event of a large regional or local disaster, resources from across the region may be needed to assist in the post-event removal of debris from public and private properties. The Regional Debris Management Plan provides the essential steps of debris management planning and response, defining roles and responsibilities and a strategy for communication and coordination. The plan also provides local and regional CONOPS, identifies key decision points and organizes the debris response mission into four ITFs:

  • Cost Tracking
  • Environmental Health
  • Transportation
  • Utilities/CIKR

Response tools include sample forms, checklists and annexes containing detailed guidance on aspects of planning, contracting and response management. The plan is complemented by DOZER , an electronic debris planning tool.
